I saw a different, but similar, report a few weeks ago that said Louisiana was the only red state in the top 10 of states who lost population over the period July 2024 - June 2025.

The other 9 were blue.

If you ask that Google AI thing "Is Louisiana sinking into the ocean?"

the answer is "Yes. Yes it is."

Dumb. I wasn't talking about Louisiana, I was talking about supporting certain policies and then complaining about the after effects of it.

Edit: Don't worry about it. I've seen your posts before, you probably wouldn't be able to understand it.

Wasn’t there a news story a few weeks back showing that Louisiana actually gained population for the first time in years?

To be fair, some of this is because of people being murdered, not just leaving the state.

How about you be a good citizen and pick it up?

In before “That’s why I pay taxes” excuse.

frick that. MFer does pay his taxes. He's got to pick it up and dispose of it? It's a gd couch that could be picked up and dumped in a government landfill in 20 minutes.

But ain't none of this gonna change till people quit voting in the same dipshits. Simple as that.

Kind of hard to retain people when you have an incompetent government resulting in very limited economic growth and opportunities.

Louisiana is great if your family is well connected. For the average citizen just trying to carve out their path without help, it’s just never going to happen without leaving.

Doesn’t help when you have a powerhouse like Texas right next door poaching folks left and right. I mean seriously you can live in Greater Houston and still experience all the Louisiana things without dealing with the bad day to day stuff.

Also on top of all that legs be honest. Demographics will always hinder Louisiana. No matter what the government does, the demographics are next to impossible to work with and grow with.

That's pretty much why I left. Couldn't move up in my field without connections. Ended up in Houston because I wanted to still be in driving distance to my parents and Lafayette/BR/NOLA.

Yet, a Republican legislature and a Republican governor will do nothing to rectify the issues leading to job/business losses. Thank goodness I've got RDS as my guv. Florida is kicking arse.

.Louisiana is an embarrassment. Just look around and see how the horrible situation is embraced by such a large percentage of the population. Crime, litter, poor education, apathy.

The majority of people in the state just don’t give a shite.

Move to another state and you’ll immediately see how dysfunctional Louisiana really is.
