My apologies. I didn't remember / realize this. Just googled it and Landry deserves all of the criticism.

Funny how that article does not mention the insurance issues in California.

Maine demographics vs Louisiana demographics
Hence the issue

I’ve driven in almost all of our states and can tell you that Louisiana drivers are the worst, as well as our roads and infrastructure. Taking north Louisiana out of the picture, we are so damn congested along I 10, 90 and 190

Absolutely hilarious the "solution" is just pass the buck to someone else and blame them for it not changing. Clown show continues
With insurance and also with the coastal erosion mid-Barataria diversion fiasco.
Passing the buck to Temple and also passing the buck to previous admin (JBE) so he can protect the oysters.

WTF!!! I didn't realize it was this bad. This is criminal!
Yeah, none of the demographics or weather or theft/vandalism risk seem to explain Louisiana's ultra high auto insurance prices.
Even NYC is 33% cheaper than the Louisiana average.

I sure as hell hope so. Landry won't be able to get out of doing debates next election and he sucks at public speaking.

He is unwilling to slap the hand of greedy plaintiff attorneys who insist on outrageous awards for bodily injuries and death claims.
Insurance carriers know this and steer clear.
It’s pretty straight forward.
Why is Landry unwilling to slap the plaintiff attorneys?
Defense attorneys are as bad as the plaintiff attorney’s
Landry, the lawyer, knows that the defense attorneys and the plaintiff attorney’s need each other. Plaintiff attorneys get paid on settlements or jury awards. Defense attorneys get paid by the hour. The higher the settlement amounts, the longer it takes to settle. The defense attorneys need things to drag out. More hours to bill.
It’s insidious.

Annual auto ins rates
La $2,734
Ms $1,505
Tx $1,716
Al $1,354
Yep, frick La attorneys.
Similar companies, similar demographics, similar weather.
Now that's pretty damning. Texas with more major metros and hailstorm alley right over the largest one in DFW, and our rates are still cheaper. MS known as a prime destination for lawsuits, and they're still cheaper.

What major company wants it to change?
Lamar?
Defense Bar?
Medical Association?
Collectively, small business fought against it through LABI and the Republican Party. Not sure who is fighting against high rates now?
