Well frick. Not only are we supposed to fly out next Saturday morning but I hate leaving my house exposed and unattended when we are expecting bad weather, whether it’s rain or snow/feeeze. I’m glad I decided to have all my exposed pipes under the house wrapped a few years ago.

It wouldn’t be a February Mardi Gras without perfect weather the weekend before and absolute shite weather the weekend of

I understand with the uncertainty at this point exact forecast is difficult. Just curious if this cold air speeds up or slows down would it still be the same or is it a situation where timing has to be perfect with something in the gulf

Any time you are talking about snow/ice in the Southeat it is a "everything has to be perfect" deal. It is why long-range forecasts, particularly for winter weather, don't have a great track record.

I’m going to guess it will be in 70’s and humid instead

Probably the worst case for us as we would be layered in ice, snow then frozen well into the teens for days

May not get snow and ice but most models are showing very cold temps for multiple days.

What are the models showing this morning? How much change from yesterday?

I’m not sure how to post an auto updating graphic but I’ll look into it.
The NWS's SPC "day 1" , etc forecasts will update each day.
Or better put, your link to it is for the next day, so your image will change every day.
For example, post an image for what Saturday's prediction will be today, and go back and look at the same post tomorrow and it will now show Sunday's.

Yes, they backed off a little overnight but remember, we’re still a long ways away from this so nothing we see for the next week will be 100% accurate and nothing we see for the next few days will be close to 50% accurate. We’re in the trend-watching stage right now. Do the current model trends indicate very cold air and ice/snow? Yes they do.
