Damn, still no power for me in the Kenilworth area.

Eta: came back at about 7:00. Going to warm the house up to a toasty 60 degrees.

Also, I definitely realized that I need to shut the frick up about complaining because things are way worse for much of LA and Texas. My BiL is staying in a hotel with their newborn in Houston and here I was griping about me and my wife having to stay with my parents for 4 days.

Stay safe everyone!

Their outage map has been very unreliable. If those pictures were taken today they are wrong.

Someone in Kenilworth spoke to a crew assessing damage and they told her maybe today. Parts of Kenilworth got power overnight. A friend on the Staring side of the parkway is still without power.

I hope everyone gets it back today.

Ok, yeah now that you say that, some friends yesterday the map was saying they were out, but they had it back.
So, you are right, the Map is crap, not this many are still out

10 consecutive days below freezing in the Falls....may hit 32 degrees tomorrow. If not, Saturday.

Next Tuesday to be 70 degrees.

I’m in SELA and yes the heat and humidity sucks, but none of those days in the summer are nearly as bad as the last 3-4 days here. This kinda cold with the humidity on top is just fricking terrible and makes everything hurt when you’re outside.

Wait until you go two weeks without power in August at 96 degrees 100% humidity after a hurricane. You'd be begging for this freezing weather.

I rather lose power when it’s freezing then the humidity after a hurricane. I like cold already and if I get cold, I can put on layers of clothes and blankets. After you lose power after a hurricane, it is so damn hot and humid that even if you are naked, you are still miserable lol.

just got out in Shreveport for the first time and the roads are an absolute nightmare. Covered in a compacted layer of frozen precip. Like driving through the worst pothole filled road ever. Semis being diverted off the interstate and getting stranded on surface street

I drove to natchitoches and back from Alexandria And it’s horrible. Went up 71 and it’s several inches of ice on the highway. Came back home on 49 and it’s 1 lane except for a couple patches

I absolutely despise winter weather. I would rather bake than contend with this silliness

I can vouch for that. Two plus weeks without electricity after Laura. Had a window unit in the bedroom to sleep. Temperatures in the rest of the house ran 85-86. It felt cooler on the patio if there was any sort of a breeze.

Our snow layer is gone. Now we have a few inches of ice covering the ground that looks like snow after all that freezing rain yesterday. Brutal to try to walk on.

My kids can walk over it, and they leave little indentations at most. It was a different experience for me.

One step would be slick ice, then I’d crash through the ice layer for several steps, then I’d hit another hard slick spot.

Since everything has thawed out in AP everything is a damn swamp. It was kinda nice having everything froze solid TBH

If your power is out, your pump for the sprinklers is out too

My wife (bless her heart) told me the tank was filling up so I assumed it was a drainage issue.

After 1.5 seconds of investigation, we had/have no water. My fault for not checking my self.

On a side note, power came back on about 4 today. Got cold in a HURRY. Water company gave us a glorious hour with water before the tanks ran dry.

Ill tell you there is a 10" layer of pure ice on everything, you have to shovel it like hard pan in July. Just chip away. I made it about a mile to my inlaws, hardest part was getting out and back in my garage.
