46 at KREG in Gonzales

No way it's 46 in Gonzales. I'm in Prairieville and am sitting at 40. There can't be that big of a difference between Gonzales and Prairieville. I have over a thousand reasons why my weather station is accurate and if it's not then Davis Weather Stations has some explaining to do.

Lost power but it came right back. Transfer scheme worked. But now we are blinking again. Just a matter of time. Pine tree limbs are popping like popcorn. Out 28 from Pineville.

Sorry for the pause in updates. I’m learning about ice dams on roofs and am dealing with this. This is just a video I sent to my dad. Fun stuff!

Pville is farther north than KREG. The temperature gradient is pretty tight

That's insane. I guess it does make sense if Baton Rouge is 34.

You on the Deville Side of 28 or the T-Town side? The other side of the lake is about the same. Not looking good.

my apartment complex just sent out an email saying we understand there's leaking into units due to snow/ice (I guess like the ice dam that Mikulas is having an issue with at his house)... and maintenance isn't here due to travel issues... so you're on your own until road conditions clear

fortunately I'm not 1 of those units (yet)... but that's a crazy email to receive

Ehhhh not sure about that with our soil/flooding.

I was just thinking different materials, hydrophobic coating, and/or a way to burn off the ice.
I've survived 12 years of Louisiana weather, including the great Denham Springs flood, and haven't lost electricity during any weather event. Not even for 3 minutes. Hurricanes, floods, snowpocalypses; our underground utilities have never gone out.

They probably also have to wait on contractors, since roof stuff is not typically something on staff maintenance does.

great another issue to worry about. Ice dams. In the short term how would you even combat that? use a metal rake or something?

I got a leak too. Right at top of above the door to the patio.

I have a bucket under it. Apartment maintenance won’t answer the phone.

Likely 1983. Red River and area lakes froze in NWLA. Stayed below freezing for 120+ days with HIGHS in single digits.

Two door down neighbor has water pouring in due to this. I have two dresses holding ice, but no leaking yet. Water flowing pretty well through it.
