If it is 24 degrees outside but the precipitation is freezing rain, is that because of a warm layer of air at higher elevations or something else?

Also for note. Interesting how I-45 can be plowed in every county except Harris. Dipshit Lina Hildago is shaking in her boots and declaring end of the world

Power just went out in Denham Springs, I’m just south of I -12. There is a fair amount of ice on the trees, still lightly raining, with a strong eneough wind to sway the tops of trees back and forth.

1. Southern Bienville Parish.
2. 10 degrees at 7am
3. Heavy snow, as close to whiteout conditions as
I’ve ever seen.
4. No pics

At about 330am we had just about an inch layer of sleet. Now it looks like about 1-2 inches of snow, still snowing very hard. About to bundle up and get out there.

We just transitioned to all snow in Monroe. As confirmed visually and by CC on radar. It’s really amazing how you can follow it in real time now.

Well, we lost hot water with the last rolling blackout and we are losing ground with the pool. Every time we break up the ice and get water temp above 33°, power goes out for 30 minutes and we are right back where we started.
