I personally decided to not make the drive to Covington because I’m worried about getting back. According to my weather app temps are supposed to drop below 30 in the next hour or two. I was worried that leads to some icier conditions

BR may be in for a long day if this ice doesn’t let up. Just a matter of time before my neighborhood is down with the live oaks weighing down the lines. Limbs starting to break off trees.

Freezing rain coming down steady in Watson. All the trees with leaves on them are starting to droop alot, and to make matters worse, the wind has picked up a good bit.

The sleet snow line continues to nudge eastward. Your reports, pictures, and videos have been fantastic. I love this little weather community we have. It looks like another few hours of fun, followed by lots of cold. I have 1.3 inches of sleet at the house, and fortunately for us all, hardly any freezing rain. That cold layer was deep enough to refreeze most precipitation before it hit the ground. Keep on reporting what you see. I’m about to put my feet up by this fire and look out the window until I doze off. That of course won’t happen until the sleet and snow have stopped. I can’t miss a minute! After it ends, I get a nap, and reheat this gumbo, I’ll dig into the Wednesday storm. I’ll be interested to see what models do with that now that we will have an accurate picture of how much snow and ice is on the ground. The Wednesday storm has the potential to bring significant ice, probably in the form of freezing rain, to at least the northern half of the area. I’ll try and figure that out when I’m less delirious.

The amount of sleet on the ground is incredible. It’s pissing sleet right now right before the snow line gets to us

A “snow” day for the adults on TD. That’s pretty cool. No one really has to go into work.
