The hourly forecast as of 5PM yesterday said Baton Rouge wasn't supposed to drop under 30 until around 8 or 9AM.

I hear you but the weather % predictions were for 0.50 inches of ice. The probability showed 80%+ of 0.10 inches of ice. Hell the low forecasted last night was in the 20s and the temp hasn’t dropped. Not trying to be an a-hole but are the actual results going to be close?

The real meat of this thing is yet to come this morning for BR. It was always supposed to be this morning and not overnight where the most precipitation fell. We are not done yet. And your temperatures will fall through the day. We aren’t warming up today.

So are you saying this was over sensationalized and another model swing and a miss? Woke up in Saint Amant and my outside thermometer still shows 33 bit in the 20s like was predicted. I will take a positive outcome just hate the excess hype.

You realize there is a world outside of Baton Rouge right? And that world got a lot of frozen precipitation where it usually doesn’t happen.

Unknown precip is usually sleet. Most of those weather sites are automated so they don’t have a human making a determination if the machine can’t figure it out

In BR on way to work.

Sleeting and raining. Roads are wet and not icy.

My oak trees are hanging wayyyyy low. That worries me more than anything
