Surface trough dipping down towards Brownsville as the current surface low dies over high terrain in Mexico. Upper divergence increasing across Texas. Lots of lift in this cold air mass.
We nowcasting now. Watch the low develop tonight and just follow the temperature gradient at the surface for the path. Also, surface temperatures in general may be something worth looking at.

Expressway bridge is/was reduced to 1 lane both directions earlier. Instead of getting on the interstate, get off at go through the hood.

Where would the weather channel be getting their forecast snowfall totals from? I don't see them on any model.
