Glad I’m not the only Snow Grinch here. Everyone around here is celebrating all this snow while I gulp wine and bitch about being stuck indoors all week.

I'm currently driving from Shreveport to Baton Rouge. No major issues thus far
Looks like you passed early enough to avoid the ice that is probably falling between Shreveport and Natchitoches now...

which would mean my only way to work is the lift bridge on Jackson St. which... no... not going over that in a freeze
You can easily slide around on the steel part of that bridge in the rain

Anyone know how the roads are around Natchez?
I think they’re pretty slick. I saw a pic on FB earlier of a car that slid off of 84 between Natchez and Meadville.

Tilted down and wasn’t winterized formally.
Northshore Covington area....
Looking like 17 or so Tomorrow night.
Thoughts?

Snow is great, ice storms with power outages and road closures are awful, only a psychopath could possibly be celebrating that.

Austin roads are a freaking skating rink. Black ice is everywhere and the city is essentially going to be not navigable from now until Friday

Hell, just come on over. Will even feed you supper

GFS is coming in at 10 degrees for BR Tuesday morning. 3 degrees lower than the previous run.
If Baton Rouge gets to 7 or lower, I’m getting blocked from Jay Grymes’ Facebook account because I’m giving him hell for laughing at 7 and saying that’s not gonna happen.

All the apps say it’s snowing in Kingwood, even radar, but it’s wrong

Do you have any idea what you've just done?! They can't step inside your house until you invite them in.

So what happens neat? Do roads stay closed all week until the temps rise enough for this to melt?

depending on where the radar is... it may be snowing at the level the beam is hitting... but evaporating before it hits the ground

I'd imagine travel will be fairly limited here until next weekend as another round is due us and temps won't really recover until then
Now this is a dry snow which is not typically seen...who knows

Your guess is as good as mine, or most here for that matter. I'd guess that if we do get accumulated ice on the ground there won't be much we can do about it until temps rise and it melts. I doubt anywhere in La, or Tx has the resources to salt a majority of the roads sufficiently to make widespread driving safe.

We wont be able to thaw until Saturday at the earliest.
Its a level of cold outside ive never felt before. Friend of mine in FW saying the heavy band looks like a wall heading this way.

I've seen them try with sand... but that doesn't really do a whole heck of a lot
