I’ll say it once more. Our local mets are feeble, weak minded, mental midget, PUSSIES!

We are staring straight at ice with a high of 33 and low of 14 and these choads are talking 40 and 23 with no ice accumulations.

WEAK!!

Got warm air coming in at 700 mb and strong dynamic lift going on near and just above that level. A little more upper divergence would be nice but you could see a nice deformation band get cooking and puke snow and farther east than anticipated.

If you can get the low to form a little more over the gulf...you'll be in business.

Baws I have 3 big arse pile of limbs from my hurricane cleanup efforts that I've been waiting to burn. If any of you see a huge fire SE of LC in the coming days it will be me.

Meteorologist Nick Mikulas
My thought process remains the same. A significant winter storm will impact the area starting Sunday, with the main chunk hitting Monday. I could write 2500 words, but it hasn’t changed much from this morning. I’ll post a brief update this evening to let you know what the early evening models say, but the general idea is for 1/2 to 1 inch of freezing rain and sleet to fall, with most falling Monday. This will cause power outages, and major travel issues. Some areas may see snow as it ends, but this should be mostly freezing rain and sleet, with temperatures falling through the 20s on Monday. That means this will accumulate quickly, and on all surfaces. There’s still a chance for another system on Wednesday into Wednesday night. This could also be significant, but temperatures are more in question. The more ice we see, and more snow we see just north of our area will have a big impact on temperatures for that event. Stay tuned.

a half inch or more of freezing rain would paralyze the area for days.

Once we go below freezing Saturday evening we’re not getting above freezing until Thursday afternoon up here.

A mixture of Freezing Rain, Sleet and Snow will begin as early as late Saturday Night, starting off as mostly a Freezing rain and Sleet mix, transitioning to mostly snow late Sunday Night through Monday.

Just wait till hurricane season when hot humid air is important.

My attitude towards this has changed drastically since the start of this thread.

It's cold as balls right now at 30deg. Can't imagine what a wet 4 deg feels like. Add snow/slush on the ground for the entire 4 days...

There's no "wet" 4 degrees.
