Near walker, of all places, we had several lightning strikes with snow falling. Thunder snow.

As someone who was born and raised in LA, this whole "-eaux" thing has jumped the shark.

I've seen it before in 87 or 88 in BR. Was pretty cool since at that time I didn't know this could happen during snow events.

Saw it as a kid in '93. It was surreal. Happened at night like it was a severe thunderstorm co.ing through with lightnin strikes every couple mins for about a half hour. When they hit and lit up everything in that electric white with all the snow blowing like crazy was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my entire life.

This entire system is just freakin weird. Here in South Carolina, our temps are actually supposed to increase through the night. We were in the low 40s today for a high, and temps are going to increase as the night goes on with us toping out at a overnight "low" of 62 around 3am. Then temps start falling again.

I’ve never thought about this, but why the frick is it rare? Why would it not lightning and snow at the same time regularly? Is lightning not normal in winter?
