How much actual casino revenue goes into roads and schools? I mean it was brought here for that specific reason.
If I recall, this money was set for the general fund. Which normally means it will be stolen over time. IE almost none of the money reaches the targets that were originally claimed.

Anything Bill Cassidy says or does - I’d do the opposite.

I've driven coast to coast recently and I didn't see the major infrastructure problems this is supposed to address.

6 billion in studies that say we need 12 billion for the projects.

And only 1 Billion will be put into the road themselves.
Such a corrupt state

So Politicians are about to get a nice pay raise. Good for them. They deserve this money more than roads and bridges honestly

so what happens with the lottery and casino money is the following
state took new money in and applied it to the part of the budget they said they would. But they took away essentially the same amount to those budget lines that was supplied by the general fund and rediverted those funds back to the general fund.
So essentially any money added by the casino or lottery was offset with reductions so the overall spending on education and roads stayed the same.
now back to the OP, that mother fricker better get the I-10 bridge in LC and the widening where it goes to 1 lane in BR completed with this money. The damn local task force has completed all the upfront work for the bridge in LC and said what they needed to do and the options. DOTD comes back with that proposal and 2 off the wall bullshite proposals that make no sense what so ever. Total waste of damn time. Just move on the damn original plan.
Only our state could plan for 30 years, not get anything done, have a local private task force get all the prelim work completed and then still turn around and screw it up.

Five new speed limit signs incoming.
This. They’ll waste it with good old boy contracts and pissing the money away in feasibility studies. Not a damn thing will get done of any substance.

For those of you who would suggest to the DOTD that another MS River Bridge is needed in the Baton Rouge area, they will respond with “You have a new bridge, Horace.”
This free-for-all of allocations will be good theater.
“Every man a King, Every man a King…”

I’m willing to bet that none of the projects mentioned will be completed by 2040.

Thanks for the clarification.
Regarding where this money is going to be spent…..normally the state must foot a % of a project and the feds add their %. LADOTD is damn near broke. However, at a convention last summer, LADOTD Reps said that 2021 (now looks like 2022) the priority is repairing/replacing bridges. TIFWIW.

who knows but got the state 6B.
Well considering what he actually did was approve a 1.2T bill for infrastructure, And Louisiana is getting .5% of it for infrastructure, I’m not sure how much celebration is warranted

DOTD
“The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the LA 507 bridge located northeast of the village of Womack in Red River Parish has been REOPENED to traffic following a bridge replacement project. The $2.2 million project involved the complete removal and replacement of the old structure, which was originally built in 1968.” Construction began in 2018 over a small channel of Black Lake Bayou, reopened yesterday.
DOTD
Meanwhile
“The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, LA 154 just west of its intersection with LA 4 in the Town of Ringgold, Bienville Parish is CLOSED. This closure is necessary due to a collapse in the roadway. DOTD is currently investigating the cause, and mobilizing to determine the appropriate repairs. There is no timeline on when repairs will be complete, but DOTD will issue further communication when additional information is available.” It’s been a month since a culvert collapsed and DOTD hasn’t even said when it might be repaired.
And I am not even going to mention Natchitoches Parish, state or parish roads. I’m sure there are better roads in the Congo than there.
