He's not my rep BUT he reps part of my parish. I've emailed this guy the nice charts, etc from here. AND I slipped in about Mandie Landry.

JBE has a ton of money to hand out. Whoever challenges him the most will get that money.
Look at the about face the JP Parish President did. She was all set on a reasonable opening until the governor had a talk about the money and she went back and backed JBE.
All of these politicians are posturing for part of that $1.8 BILLION

HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act, the U.S. Department of Education has made $10.4 million in funds available to Southeastern Louisiana University, university officials announced on May 6.
As required by the federal legislation, half of the funds, approximately $5.2 million, will go directly to students in the form of financial grants to cover increased cost of university attendance associated with the disruption of campus operations.

Trust me when I say that she is not really backing him. She is absolutely fuming behind the scenes as is the rest of the JP Counsel.

That kinda sounds like the worst kinda backing to me. To the outsider it looks like he bought her off with money so she’d go sit down and shut up.
Doesn’t matter what she’s doing behind the scenes. What happens in public is the perception that people are going to have of her.

JBE has be pretty pissed watching this committee hearing.

The numbers have got to be either really low or really high. Either way JBE is politicizing this to make the GOP super-majority look bad/dumb/whatever.

They're undoubtably going to be low. JBE keeps pandering for federal money and the goalposts keep moving. There won't be a small business left alive by the time he gets his way should this continue. Just horrendous leadership from a horrendous governor.

If they’re low:
JBE says “GOP wasted the taxpayers time on legislation that isn’t needed since I'm moving to phase 1”
If they’re high:
“The callous disregard for human life was on display earlier today in our House Chamber, just as it pains me to report another 1,567 new cases and 295 deaths.”

Wouldn’t taking online classes be cheaper?

The JBE rules of engagement for the chinese flu are just as bad Obama's were the sandbox a few years ago...

There was a comment on his Twitter asking him why he was threatening reps with no money for their districts if they didn’t back him
When I thought to get a screenshot it had been deleted

That's what I'm thinking. They have been moving the goal posts ever since we started getting close to reopening. It was always about the 14 D/A for the State. When that started declining, they were looking at the 14 D/A by Region. But, did not factor in that some regions had just started testing. The finally admitted that a more recent bump was not an accurate reflection because it counted weeks worth of data in 1 day.
They recently started talking about how they are using a 14 D/A from when the test is administered. While it's a better measure that when the results are returned, that data is no where for the average citizen to find. Therefore, there is no way for us to challenge.
But the bigger question is, if they can adjust the data to reflect when the test is administered; wouldn't it make a lot more sense to do a 14 day average from when symptoms started. Ironically, they changed that from a bar chart to a line chart on ldh's website and you can no longer get the data for every day.
Symptoms start date would give you your true recovery rate because someone getting tested a day after symptoms started should not be counted the same as someone that had minor symptoms for a week and finally decided to take a test to confirm.

Yes. No new deaths and no new cases since 5/05.
