Great news is, this spike seems to be peaking around 30 deaths a day, where the earlier spike was around 65 deaths per day

They may not break it down by Parish, but they do break it down by Region on the New Cases by Collection Date Tab on ldh's website won't let me link directly to the tab.

I thought it would take a couple days to drop but the hospitalizations are about to drop like a rock. Just like Arizona.

For those about to freak out, the deaths are a big backlog

Only 1 death, so far, is attributed to yesterday. They added deaths to weeks back today
It's almost as if the bean counters are keeping a "Death Reserve."

When the daily number of deaths declines to a low number, some deaths are taken out of the Death Reserve to make it appear that deaths are increasing.

Nah, they wouldn't do that.

Would they??

I doubt think it’s that nefarious, but I think death backlogs are likely due mainly to people that died “with covid” and not due to covid

For example, those that die truly die to covid are turned in right away. The with covid deaths aren’t known until the car crash victim is cut open by the coroner
