I can’t remember if I argued with you or not in the first three months of this, but lately I think you have been my favorite poster for Covid related post. I appreciate the knowledge that you bring

Serious question...when people say they cant "smell or taste" Is it because they are congested and cant smell and because they cant smell they cant taste or are they not congested and just cant smell or taste?

Because when I get a cold and/or sinuses are acting up I will get congested and lose some smell and taste

We may have butted heads early on, I don’t remember. If so I apologize. Things have been much better around here and in the covid thread, mostly sticking to information that tries to paint an accurate picture and avoid argument

So much of it is still opinion at this point

I’m not sure with just barely a week into the mask mandate that we can say it’s working. Hope that was sarcasm. I mean it does take “2 weeks” for a good results on anything else.

What is the death rate in Louisiana does anyone know? What's it trending?

The death rate now has nothing to do with a mask mandate from 7 days ago.

Son-in-law couldn’t smell or taste after congestion had resolved. Lasted about a week. No fever BTW.

Trending downward in every age bracket. Of course it is when you dump all of these cases/tests. As far as the numbers, here you go:

<18 0.05%
18-29 0.057%
30-39 0.4%
40-49 0.87%
50-59 2.2%
60-69 5.6%
70+ 20.9%

Before they started dumping 25-30k tests a day the 70+ rate was around 25%. You can see how much it has dropped in July.

Oh I don’t care about cases — I just hate when people who aren’t in tune with this freak the hell outnover cases that include backlogs from a LONG time ago.

I noticed this as well. The 70+ rate dropped 5% in a hurry.
