There is something about the larger scale community behavior which is driving these leading numbers down. The mask mandates is the latest thing which has been imposed statewide. Can you think of what else may be pushing the trends in the positive direction? The trends are getting much better again.

I say August 28th and do an all out beg for people to behave on Labor Day.
A lot of people want sports now so may be able to convince a lot of the public for just that day.

JBE knew the peak was coming. We said it here repeatedly and we don’t even have all the data he does. His “mask mandate” was a well timed move to make it look like he made a difference.
95% of people wearing legitimate masks were wearing them before the mandate. The other 5% after the mandate are wearing an old tshirt over their face that does absolutely nothing.

Think the State would only wait 2 weeks? It appears ldh is giving a 10 day cushion before they claim the cases by collection date are accurate, so at the very least I would think 3-4 weeks after labor day.

There was an initial peak around New Orleans.
Then another peak for the rest of the state.
The virus was following its natural course. Separate out New Orleans and look at that curve. It’s no different before and after the mask mandate.

There is no way to prove it, but I noticed that people were getting a lot more comfortable with their social distancing before the mask mandate went into affect. Once the mandate was put out there, people were getting back to the 6' social distancing. It now is starting to appear as if people are getting more comfortable again, and are not as concerned with distancing.
I believe it has more to do with the fear component, and top of mind for people. When JBE put that mask mandate out there, it probably reset a certain level of fear that had more people more cognizant of distancing and personal hygiene.

That may be. New Orleans and BR were hit hard and then declined. That decline could just be a natural life span of the outbreak or it could be due to behavioral changes in the more seriously affected population. I certainly don't have any data to say one or the other is correct. You may be correct.
