How can you celebrate when people have died

I feel sad for you, to have lived your life without ever celebrating.

Think of the most grotesque, perverted, fricked up, tortuous thing you can think of right now. Got it?

Now that exact thing, pretty much no matter what it is, is happening to a half dozen people at the moment, right along with the other 10’s of thousands of people who were going to die today - COVID or no COVID.

Your wedding day? Yeah, there was a 6 year old getting gang-banged by her uncle and his friends somewhere in this country, all the while countless cancer victims gasped their last breath. I’m going to guess you celebrated that day.

Why? Because it’s human nature to do so, and it’s not good for our species to attempt to emotionally harbor the pains of all 8-billion of us at once.

Good news. Interestingly, one of the NOLA news channels were showing graphics yesterday and the below 10% positive rate is due very heavily to Orleans and Jefferson. Many other places are still above 10. Moral of the story - let them do as much testing as they want in those two places and positive rate will continue to fall.

I think if school wasn’t starting, he would have made it 2 weeks. He wants to get it as low as possible with school starting.

Give it a week or so, and he'll be praising his mask mandate for a peak that happened before masks would have had an effect.

Let’s not forget SWB put the states capital city under a mask mandate before JBE did anything so any credit actually goes to her

The cynic in me says he wants it to decrease before school so when there's a bump in cases everyone will freak out about the kids being in school

Because death means a hospital bed just opened and that’s what we need to get back in bars

LDH Region 1 (Southshore of Greater NOLA) has been sub-10% positivity since July 17 (10.06% positivity)... the latest number the LDH gives us is from July 29 where Region 1 was at 8.41%

For what it's worth... Region 2 (Greater Baton Rouge) has been spiking. On 7/19 it was at 9.93% and has been above 10% since... up to 15.56% on the most recent official daily numbers on 7/29

Region 3 (River Parishes) is still hovering around 20% positivity

Region 6 (CenLA) hit a secondary peak of 14.69% on 7/18... then trended down to 10.84% on 7/27 but then saw a slight kick back up in the final 2 days of numbers provided

That spike will come down. Ochsner just completed their study and the capital region was only 6%.
