Not entirely.

T cells don’t prevent infection but they could make an infection extremely mild or asymptomatic. More like a common cold. It’s questionable wether that lowers the herd immunity threshold. Other factors could lower the herd immunity threshold though.

This is an important distinction because there may still be cases but the number of severe cases and deaths may continue to fall. Point being, don’t panic over cases.

I also think that a lot of people who are defeating the virus very easily and with T cells probably aren’t making antibodies at levels high enough to register on antibody testing. Which would underestimate how widespread this virus actually is.
