If we don’t see a spike from schools...this is OVER
The first university to convene was Notre Dame. Everyone had to test negative to go back on campus. They are presently seeing early exponential spread through the student body. The pattern is exactly what we have seen in a larger scale.
This same pattern will repeat in every university, high school and elementary school. The fact that the kids have been kept out of school since March means that while cases will almost all be mild, there is not wide spread antibodies.
The school bump will be frightening to people who are frightened by this sort of thing.
Nevertheless, we have to keep moving forward. Can’t lock down forever.

b/c those numbers posted are the "official" numbers where the backdating is taken into account... numbers change as the tests that are submitted to the state are filed to the correct date
these numbers aren't even "final"... but they're close enough to use as an official report
Do they lower these percentages once they back date tests weeks from now?

What’s the Phase 3 requirement... 14 days under 5%. Two days down.
That would take us right on into the Labor Day weekend. You know damn well we won't be allowed to hit phase 3 before then.

depends I guess
like the "2nd peak" I believe at 1 point was near 15.5%
now it's down to almost 15.0%

UNC went from 2.6% to 13.6% in a week.
13.6% of what?

You can't say that definitively. If a majority of students come from an area that has already gone through their wave, it's no guarantee that we'll see rapid exponential growth.

I don’t like this uptick one bit. It shows you that we can’t let up even for a second.

Almost 100 more cases than yesterday. That’s 20%. I don’t know how you’d call that good.

I believe it is Chapel Hill which has @ 900 students infected.

What? They have over 30,000 students
Roughly 0.3% of their students have tested positive
Now class, do you see how you can present the same data in different ways to make completely different points?

"there was a 50% increase over last week's numbers"
Fine print: went from 0.5% to 0.75% pos rate.

JBE is that you? Cause that sounds like some dumbass line of thinking the Honor Chode would have to justify going to Phase 0 for 6 weeks.
