What are the chances that he even mentions this today. And if so, what kind if disclaimer will go along with such info?

To show how useless the daily "new cases" number is from Twitter, let's look at 8/12. According to the updated LDH site tab "New Cases By Lab Collection Date", there were 903 new cases on 8/12. A 9.4% positive rate = 9606 tests to get 903 positives.

On 8/12, LDH announced that "Since yesterday, 30,045 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 1,598,609"

So more than 2/3 of the tests reported for that day were backdated and not actually for that day.

OP should be nominated for poster of the year for doing this every day and keeping us informed with just the numbers.

Ok, LDH updated the daily % positive through Aug 12.

Between June 1 & Aug 7 (last day on the previous reporting) only 17 days decreased. 37 days increased. 14 stayed the same.

Someone explain how that's possible with weeks of lower than 10% being reported in the gross #s.

I'll get downvoted but I had what I considered a normal, run of the mill allergy/sinus thing. It's NOTHING that I would normally have gone to a doctor for. I stayed home unless I needed to go to the grocery store (I think I went once in 10 days?) and I'm not in favor of masks but for that time period I wore it when I shopped. Could I have been positive? I guess. But I just wasn't going. (Yes, I'm braced for being called selfish/whatever)

and you have found the reason why there's so much confusion to the lay person about these reports

Yup. Exactly this. We aren't leaving Phase 1.5 anytime soon.

Had an employee get tested because they had sniffles. Came back positive. Employee had to use all vacation and sick days to get paid for 14 day quarantine. Missed a week of pay because didn’t have enough hours banked.

Aren't employers required to offer 2 weeks of covid related sick leave? I guess that only applies to companies under 500 employees.
