I know...I somehow chopped off "infected".
200 out of 30,000 students have tested positive
And they shut it all down
But bonkers has a scary number of 13.6%!!!!!!

The dashboard shows 135 new COVID-19 cases — 130 students and fives employees — for the week of Aug. 10 to Aug. 16.
According to the dashboard, the cumulative rate of positive COVID-19 test results at UNC-Chapel Hill is 10.6 percent — higher than the statewide rate of 7.5 percent. Among the 954 tests conducted the week of Aug. 10, 135 positives, or 13.6 percent, were reported. About 10 new cases were reported in previous weeks.
"As of this morning, we have tested 954 students and have 177 in isolation and 349 in quarantine, both on and off campus," university officials wrote in a statement. "So far, we have been fortunate that most students who have tested positive have demonstrated mild symptoms."

It won't be. Problem here is if things get re-opened, there will be an increase in positive cases. So we re-open for a couple weeks then BAM he will shut it back down.
In Louisiana, the July spike was mostly from regions that didn’t experience a huge wave back in April.
Similar spikes occurred across the country. States like Florida, Texas, and Arizona escaped the initial surge, but their cases have exploded this summer.
Hopefully that’s not a coincidence, and there’s some herd immunity taking place. If so, there will probably be an increase, but we won’t see another big spike in cases when things start opening back up.

I really don't think the K-12 schools are going to be an issue with positives going up all that much.
I can see the concern with the college kids, especially those living in dorms. My daughter's dorm is being very strict though and it sucks for a first time college student having to go through this.
As always, I say move on with life and protect the most at risk.

I get all of that, but "big spike" is relative to the interpreter. Consider those who make the call to open/shut down businesses...
Hope you are right though

Aren't employers required to offer 2 weeks of covid related sick leave? I guess that only applies to companies under 500 employees.
We are way over 500 employees

These are great numbers for sure. But we won’t see the next phase until it’s under 5%
