.@LouisianaGov: If you are in quarantine b/c been in contact with someone with #COVID19, you can't test yourself out of quarantine before 14 days are up #lagov

He is a fricking idiot if he thinks anyone is staying in 14 days & quarantining
People are going shopping as soon as symptoms stop

there have been 380,000 cases of covid in children

550 mis-c cases, or 0.1% of just confirmed cases

I think calling it rare is a bit understated

Did he say you have to quarantine even after a negative test?

You know how I know the tests are unreliable now? Jeez!

And what's sad is that probably 75% of people in this state believe every damn thing he's saying and will question nothing.
Damn politicians piss me off so much.

Yes
You cannot go get a negative test to end 14 day quarantine if you were in contact with someone with virus

He has no concept of reality

Based on what they said about yesterday’s testing/case reporting anomaly, the numbers are falling off a cliff if they’ve captured all of the cases for a 4 day period in the last 3 reports.

.@LouisianaGov says to get the full $400 per week benefit for unemployed workers, Louisiana has to pay 25% of the cost.

Other option is for the feds to count our current UI payments towards the amount, but it would only be $300 extra a week, and not everyone would qualify.

Maybe because of the 25% the state would have to pay & how much is left in account

If it gets under 100 million or something by law businesses have to pay a 30% sur tax on payroll

Maybe because of how much is in this account:
Also: @LouisianaGov says funding this benefit through the FEMA Disaster Relief fund is a short-term fix. The DRF would be drained quickly ... and we are in the height of hurricane season.

.@LouisianaGov: Solvency of our unemployment trust fund (in danger). Fund was more than $1B in March. Now down to $253M. 'Fully anticipate won't have choice but to borrow money from feds, but then have to pass cost to biz. We don't want to do that.' #lagov #COVID19

My agreement was that is what JBE would do, not that I agree that we should still be with the current restrictions 3 weeks past Labor Day.

I question whether any restrictions were necessary. Constitutionally, I believe their limitations should have stopped at providing guidance/suggestions that people have a choice to decide if they want to follow based on ACCURATE information

The legislation says "up to" 30% surtax. JBE is way too tax happy not to go with the max, but the max is not a requirement. I believe it can also be avoided as long as there is a time frame to get back over the 100M, just don't know if there is a requirement along the lines of...must be over 100M by the end of the fiscal period...
