23k cases and 18k recoveries. Why don’t they report recoveries more???

Alabama doesn't report recoveries at all. I don't understand it.

I don't think there is enough tests for it. I believe you need two consecutive positive tests to be considered recovered. Most people just go on with their lives.

Recoveries will never be reported, even if the information is available. You know why. We all do.

That helps, but still isn't a clear picture. The governor has admitted some death come from 10 days or more out.

I hope the data they are working off attributes the death to the day it occured.

14-day Averages for the data has the same trend-lines, FWIW.

Why not report patients that showed up with COVID and were released after tested negative

Is there data that shows patients that were already in the hospital with different issues and contracted the virus while they were admitted?

These numbers will never be accurate

Technically there is none, but I said this two weeks ago. People are recovering at their house and not notifying anyone.
Wwl had a article the other day.

I’m not gonna sit here and claim to be a Rhodes scholar by any means But if Louisiana has had 23,118 cases and only 1,868 deaths that’s means 21,250 people of the reported cases have not died yet so you can only assume they healed

I really do with Jindal was in charge of the data. I believe we would have so much actual usable data we wouldn't know what to do with it.

Heads up guys. Bobby Jindal is posting on the OT.

Those rolling averages look good to me. Can someone tell me plainly whether we believe this is the data the state will be looking at to determine whether we can move to phase 1?

I'm not sure whether our coming transformation to purely gif-based communication is a good thing, but they sure do make me chuckle.

Embrace it. Remember, that post up there is worth at least 2013 words.
