There needs to be even more restrictions on SNAP. Meat, veggies, fruit, water. No processed garbage.

lol, back when I worked at a crawfish/seafood market in college they sold hot food to EBT. Eventually SNAP stepped in and took away their ability to take it for a bit, and yes this was in an EBT prevalent area

If they do this in Mississippi, I'd be legitimately concerned about venturing into grocery stores for the first few months after implementation. There are going to be some large irate people.

I’d be fine with this. Add spices into there. And at the same time benefit amounts need to be raised and eligibility requirements loosed to allow more access to them. You shouldn’t get kicked off of food stamps and Medicaid because you found a job that pays $12 an hour. It discourages finding work and nobody making that little can afford insurance and food and rent

Being behind people using food stamps to buy a cart full of 20 oz cokes and bags of boiled crawfish had my blood boiling this weekend.

This dipshit. Barring soda, chips and other junk food does not reduce one to the bare minimum.

How many of the people on SNAP are hiring and paying people salaries and benefits?

In every SNAP thread, someone throws this out. Start a fricking thread about it.

Candy and soft drinks are in the news, but the change I would like to see is to require single parents to pursue the absent parent for child support. Some states require this, and some states require the absent parent to be current in cs payments to qualify.

Not only would this force parents to pursue the support that their children deserve, it would also help solve the problem of fathers with income being unreported in the home.

It’s not their money. It’s a gift with strings attached if they want it.

Couple years ago they had a 12 pack of cokes sale at Albertsons and this young female had 2 shopping carts full. She was using multiple snap cards from other people. It was quite disgusting

While I am about as small government person you will find, if the government is paying for your meals, I have no issue with them saying what you can and cannot buy.
