This is like rushing out of church to grab a sixer before kickoff...

Why does Louisiana need a 'state book' and if it is so important, why isn't the state book Confederacy of Dunces or The Movieoger or All the Kings Men?
Well Confederacy of Dunces rips on BR pretty hard. In general all three of those are beyond the reading comprehension of most of our state's fine residents.

fricking idiots, the lot of them.
I hate pandering a-hole politicians like I hate the University of Alabama football team winning a game. It tells me they can't win on their own policies or they are just lazy as frick so they just decide to violate a constiutional principle.

The bible has nothing to do with Louisiana. What a ridiculous bill.
Plenty of worth literary works to come out of LA (a confederacy of dunces, all the king's men, etc.) to resort to a book written in the Middle East and printed in Germany.

All the more reason, IMO.

It would be interesting to pass a bill where if you are ever elected into any high ranking office, a camera crew gets to follow you 24/7.

If any legislator votes "no", his/her opponent in the next election can shout from the hilltops that the incumbent voted against the Bible.

Not just the Bible. A King James Version, written in the 16th Century, that is owned by the State. Could it come down to Catholics vs. Protestants on this issue? Only God knows for sure...

I'll take Job. That's a good book for Louisiana.
