One more reason to keep driving an old classic and just keep repairing.
Hand me my beer, please.

high schoolers will find a way around this before anyone else does
1. Roll down the windows to allow fresh, clean air in.
2. Put a piece of tape over the sensor input.
3. Remove the fuse or bypass the sensor.

The sensor above the steering will constantly monitor for ethanol while normal breathing.
I wonder how well it works in a convertible or for a motorcycle.

Don’t worry they’ll make doing that illegal baw. You can’t win. The time for even trying has long past.

Or does it????

You might not feel drunk, but the Louisiana .08 BAC limit is about 30 minutes into a crawfish boil for me.

You have to laugh at the fact that despite the current trend of selling vehicles with disabled features that have been around for a decade or more, they're going to add more useless features.

Yall must all love to drive drunk. Who cares if they monitor that. If it does save one life from some careless a-hole then go for it. Not everything is some conspiracy theory government regulation. If people would grow up and not get behind the wheel while intoxicated then this would not even be an issue. Take some personal responsibility for once.
Do you drink at all? If you do, you have most likely driven when this thing would say no go.

Nope. They'll just keep taking the same money we've been giving them while doing the same shite job they've been doing while begging for more money as they implement more regulations that will take even more money out of the average person's pocket.
Amen!
The government whether local, state, or federal never holds up their end of the bargain/contract with the public.
Where’s the infrastructure they are responsible for? Roads, federal highways, and bridges throughout this country are complete and utter dogshit, yet they’ve robbed you for decades and you’re willing to give them even more autonomy under the guise of public safety.
Every state in the union has a Department of Motor Vehicles with massive budgets and an encyclopedic volume of laws and regulations, yet they’ll give any functional retard with $20 and the ability to read an eye chart an operator’s license, no questions asked.

every mechanic shop i see went from averaging 6-8 cars waiting to 15-20 cars and a 3 week wait to bring it in for repairs. but its more about the cost of new cars then BS like this
also, onstar constantly tracks your every move and listens in to what you say if they decide they want to, it doesnt matter if you turned the service off or not

I don't advocate drunks driving but this system is easy to bypass.
Carry a small cylinder of compressed air with a hose on the end. When the drunk gets in the car place the hose in front of the sensor and crack the valve on the cylinder.
Drive away to hit some guard rails, profit.
Our elected officials and bureaucrats are low watt bulbs.
