That zip code covers people who live downtown, Spanishtown, Ted Dunham, etc. Not hard to believe there are 200 people making $100k plus between those areas.

70802 also includes Beauregard Town, Spanish Town, and parts of downtown (like some of those really nice condos).
I'm guessing the 2% over $100,000 come from those areas.

Downtown BR....
70801 is also Downtown.
And 70802's residents are primarily Old South BR and Fairfields.
The data is analyzing personal, not corporate, returns.

As someone who grew up in Minden, it paints one hell of a picture that cotton valley is only the 48th poorest zip code in the state. this state is hilariously broke af baw

2. 71202: Monroe (Ouachita Parish)
$24,119: Average 2015 reported total income.
45%: Percent of returns with no tax liability.
58%: Percent of returns with refundable Earned Income Credit.
2%: Returns reporting over $100,000 in income.
10,410: Number of tax returns.
The map and zip code matches the southside of Monroe. Everything south of the interstate in Ouachita Parish, which is a very bad place to live or even pass through. The good people in Monroe need to make something happen soon or it will be the end of this city and it may already be too late.
