#67 and call him. Thank him for returning your wallet and that you will be donating some money to a local charity in his name for his kindness.
You do need to change all your credit cards and I would alert your bank should you have had info in your wallet identifying your bank.
I am not sure if you can ask for a new drivers license and number and have them declare your other one invalid or if that would even help.
We are all cynical in today's world. The man may want nothing but a thank you but of course I would have the same thoughts as you.

Yeah, I thought of that too. At least I tried to deliver it to him. His address on the concealed carry was different than on his license, so who knows where he was living at the time, anyway.

Some guy left a wallet full of shite (license, credit cards, cash, some various other cards, etc...) where I work and we called him and he was very grateful and said he'd stop by asap. 2 months later and we still have it. Wtf?

Ignore him completely. It's creepy enough that he found your home and put it in your mailbox.

Took two years to get your license restored?

sounds like someone has been watching shameless recently and was like thought it was a great idea to take the money, return the wallet/purse and act like they didn't take the money in hopes for a reward
Lol was about to post this. Have an upvote for your great taste in comedy.

He might just want confirmation that the right person received it.
I found a wallet not too long ago. There was no cash in it, but there was credit cards and ID. The address was in a very low income neighborhood. I drove to the address to return it but no one answered the door. I didn't see a safe place to leave it, so I left a note with my Google Voice phone number. The girl's boyfriend called me that night. I agreed to meet them outside my place of employment the next day and returned it.
Within an hour the bitch is calling me, accusing me of taking her cash. I immediately regretted taking time out of my day to try to do something nice for some random stranger.

I was eating at a restaurant near interstate a couple years ago and went to take a leak. After washing my hands, I turned around and there was a large travel wallet on the floor under the door of a stall. I picked it up and it was loaded with $100 bills. I didn't bother counting them and grabbed the Texas drivers license out to find the guy.
As I was walking out the bathroom, 3 Lil' Wayne wannabees walked in.
I walked around the restaurant with the license looking for the guy. Fortunately he was bald and had a goatee so it wasn't hard to find him. I had the license in my hand and asked him if he was Thomas whatever and he said yes. I gave him the wallet and told him where I found it and that his money was still in it. He looked shocked when he opened the wallet and the money was there. He thanked me and I walked off.
Had to be at least $1500-$2000 cash in there. He was a trucker, so I guess some carry alot of cash.

A while back in lived in downtown Houston and did this for 2 years, it was awesome. I only put 6,000 miles on my car during that span.
The hemorrhoid related medical expenses tho...

Pulled up to an ATM that some idiot (who probably posts here) had left his card in the machine, with the "Would you like another transaction?" message still up. I, of course, pushed no and the card was ejected. I looked him up on FB and PM'd him. He was partying in DT BR (it was a weekend night). He asked if I could bring it to him downtown. Tracked this DBag down finally, and there wasn't so much as a "Thank You". I shouldla taken his cash and bought a round at the busiest bar, but my parents taught me (some) morals.

you only had $80 in your wallet?
What a loser.
I have no visible cash in my wallet.
There is a 100 inside an alieve pack
Unless I'm going cross country or out of country, cash is a burden.

Make this face when you meet him, tell him you want that $80
