did you have your SS in there?

time for credit lock and IRS tax pin

you need to cancel your debit card at a minimum. It is one thing to tell the Credit Card Company a charge is fake and they need to figure it out. It is total different to call your bank and say a charge is fake, and can you please have your money back.

You could probably do a phone number search on DeAngelo, then find his address..write a thank you note and leave it in his mailbox.

DeAngelo is looking for a reward. Any decent person would just return the wallet and leave it at that.

At best DeAngelo is looking for a reward or thanks

at worse he needs your cell number to help identity fraud

For stealing your money?

Like someone else said, I'd cancel all cards immediately.

that works

like other poster said maybe he just wants to tell you were you F'ed up.

Also benefit of doubt he didn't necessarily steal your $80 and a thanks seems warranted.

Give him your beeper number then call him from a phone bank.

IF he contacts you afterwards, in some fashion about a reward, I would tell him that the cash that was there would have been given to him but you can't spare anymore. Tell him his reward will be in the next life or something deep...it will throw him off.

It had $30.00 in it with a couple of bank card and a DL but of course NO phone #....I took it to his bank, figuring they had some contact info for him and left my business card with it.

His address wasn't on his DL?

And congrats on the $30 find.

I normally only keep like $10 in my wallet

pretty shitty timing to lose my wallet when I'm actually carrying more cash

FTR, he called me a day or two later and thanked me...I told him to put a card in his wallet...He paused like I am a doddering old man....bastard.

As to the OP... most likely the same guy that returned the wallet and left his number isn't the one who took the cash.

He probably found it already rummaged through and returned it, leaving his number hoping you might give him a reward.

If I was you, I wouldn't text or call... or call from work. I would say that you don't want the dude knowing where you work, but he already knows where you live...
