My Chloe was coughing and not feeling well about 2 weeks ago. We took her to our vet. He prescribed antibiotics
and Motrim. A week later she was not much better so we brought her to another vet. Said she had an ear infection but given no medicine. This week her breathing was worse so we brought her to the Sherwood Animal Hospital. They ruled out heart worms, then did a lung x-ray. They said she had large masses in her lungs which was probably metastasized from another primary source. We brought her to All Pets this morning and she was euthanized and will be cremated. Gosh, this was one of the hardest things I have done. Chloe was 12 years old, and yes she was the best dog ever!

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are the best, they never live long enough.

Lost my shepherd over Thanksgiving same sort of situation. Everything seemed fine, he had slowed down some but he was 12. But he started having digestive problems and would only eat sparingly in the last few weeks.
I think its a solid way to go out looking back. He was active and going on walks up until the last few weeks and only had really bad days at the very end.
Sounds like your girl was the same. RIP

Losing a pet is a terrible experience for many people, including me. So sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. My dog died but I never really had time to mourn because my dad died shortly after that. She went everywhere with me though including work and her ashes still stay in my truck so she can ride with me forever. You will find some special way to keep your girl close to your heart

Had to put down my 15 yr old Irish setter 2 years ago today. I miss her so much.
