Sorry for your loss, man.

We loss our little Morkie after a similar progression earlier this year. It is difficult, but you know when it is the best thing for the dog.

One thing that helped me is that my wife and I dug the grave for our little guy ourselves. Nice spot with some shade from an oak but sunny during parts of the day. Digging that grave and planting flowers on top actually did help some. (Of course, that would be a much more difficult thing to do with a big dog like a lab).

She won the doggie lottery when you adopted her.

I am slowly losing my 9 YO Golden. She may have a mass on her heart but she certainly has cardiomyopathy. It's tough. She's gone down in a hurry but tonight, she'll be up on the bed with me just like she was last night.

My wife and I, along with our two very old shelter dogs, Boudreaux (16) and Maggie (14) send our love and heartfelt condolences. That is an extremely hard thing to endure.

I’m usually a dickhat on here, but I truly hope your sorrow subsides in short time. Losing a dog is the worst. Losing a faithful lab is the worst of the worst.

Sorry about Chloe. We put one of our dogs down at Thanksgiving — it’s a tough thing to do but we just have to trust we know when it is the right thing to do.

Maddie, our Chocolate Lab, turns Sweet 16 tomorrow. We feel blessed that she is still relatively healthy at her age — she’s been deaf for a few years and paces a lot in the evening (vet says it is a sign of dementia) but other than that, she still likes to jog around the yard every morning. Lately though, she has started having problems with her legs sliding out from under her. We bought adhesive grips for her paw pads and that helps but this feels like it might be the beginning of the end.
