Looks like you can use Uber in Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes

So. I got the email saying it was good to go yesterday, but then my friend who is a driver said they got an email telling them they are not allowed to pick up in those parishes yet.

You can use UBER to get the airport. It's $33 flat rate. I don't think you can take an uberX from the airport though unless it's Uber black or suv and that is really expensive.

I got burned by this in DFW earlier this past week, didn't expect being forced to go all the way to black to leave the airport.
Thought I'd share the community workaround that probably can apply to most airports:
You get on a public transportation (DART train at DFW for 2.50), take the first stop, and UberX from there to your destination.

I would definitely use it, I'm a responsible adult now so if I go out and I'm driving I won't drink. Really sucks being responsible.
Hopefully they get enough drivers to make it reliable and eventually add black service.
