TSA about to see less slippers and pajamas going through security.
One can hope but this can be avoided (at least at IAH) by staying away from Terminal A.

Hand up. Spirit's low prices bailed me out a few times, compared to the major carriers, when I procrastinated and needed a same day or next day flight somewhere.

Good riddance. Screw them and every “ultra low cost airline” and their hidden fees, extreme delays, and general incompetence

quote:the whole reason why the ultra low cost model is cratering is because legacy airlines have started to segment their fares to the degree that you can buy a simple, basic, economy fare on like United that that is pretty price competitive with less zoo and enough people have decided the slight difference in price is worth the significant less chaos
Every "ultra low cost" airline keeps prices down on legacy airlines.
If the argument is that once Spirit and Frontier and Sun Country and JetBlue and Breeze go under that the legacy airlines will no longer have that incentive then that is probably a fair point. But as it stands today there isnt nearly as much of an incentive to fly these airlines as there once was

I usually use spirit and frontier. I can care less about sitting in comfortable seats for two hours. I can handle the zoo for two hours.
Youll be downvoted but youre right. Max 2 hours, it doesnt matter. Service was fine, prices low. Download a movie and be on your way. Great option for last min purchases.

Back when they ran $35-50 RT from New Orleans to Dallas, I would take it monthly to go visit a good friend. It was a nice, easy, cheap hour-long flight.

On any airline, just:
use a sleeping mask
ear buds
menthol balm for under your nose.
