There were a couple of these in DFW before the Chinese virus.

This is not a new thing for Chick fil A. There’s one on the west side of ATL in Douglasville maybe that’s been like that for a couple years.

Efficient 2 lane drive thru, walk up ordering, outside dining area, and small indoor dining space.

I really can’t see you being a bigger douchebag than commenting on every fricking thing I post. Take my balls out of your mouth and move on.

Chik-Fil-A moves cars through those double drive throughs quickly. It's about efficiency and maximizing profits. You are thinking way too hard on this one.

They never wanted you in the dining room. You're dirtying stuff up and getting refills.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I responded to any of your post. Am I really living permanently in your head that you remember everything I post?

They figured out that they will never happen to open the dining room again because they still make a fortune.

I love/d CFA but I can’t bring myself to go there unless and until they open the dining area. I desperately miss the spicy sandwich with cheese and some Polynesian sauce.

Think of a place that has the ingredients to cook for KFC, taco bell, and Pizza Hut all at the same time (just to use a yum brands example).

Kentaco Hut? Those already exist don't they?

Chick-fil-A was doing this before Covid. At my location anyways.

I know for a fact that both McDonalds and Chick-fil-A are both purposely delaying opening the dine in as long as possible as they are more profitable the way things are right now. They have savings on the labor cost for additional employees to run the registers and no constant cleaning in the dining area and restrooms. When one opens the others will follow. Most of them likely will be opening just before school lets out.

I know an owner and want to do this. Why have the dining room open for you to staf, clean, and maintain? Speaking for Louisiana, people are pretty destructive to restaurants. They will save a lot of money right there

They probably realized that their drive thrus are the most efficient thing ever invented so they might as well keep it going

They have one of the slowest order times in the industry despite having a pretty limited menu.

The idea that they're so efficient is a myth that many believe though

My wife and I actually decided today that we would no longer patronize an establishment with a closed lobby/dining room that was no longer mandated to do so... it seems like one of several things that companies changed for COVID’s sake and now don’t want to go back.

Yeah but they're the most accurate and friendliest customer service experience possible, and the wait times are inflated by drive thru volume.

Chick-fil-A, in many ways, is setting the high bar for quick-service performance, and that’s especially true in drive thru. Between 1998 and 2009, the Drive-Thru Study used a composite score to rank brands; Chick-fil-A claimed the No. 1 spot six times. And in this year’s Drive-Thru Study, Chick-fil-A was best in both order accuracy (at 94 percent, 4 percentage points higher than No. 2 Burger King) and customer service (scoring top marks in eye contact, pleasant demeanor, smiling, saying “please,” and being “very friendly”).

Name another fast food restaurant where you can get 94% accuracy. Plus, like you said, in blind shopper trials they're still rated as fast service because of the constant interaction along the way. You get the iPad server, the one at the kiosk confirming your order and offering a receipt, and then the window to get your food.

If that’s true which I doubt, it’s because they don’t make people pull up and shite to doctor the times

Most restaurants from big chains to local mom n pop places have realized the model has changed. In Dallas, the city has allowed places to take over 2 or 3 street parking spaces outside their front door for outdoor seating.

Exactly. Think like Disney and the Rise of the Resistance ride. They added a "shuttle ride" and hangar bay for the experience but you are still waiting in line
