The bike had to be moving after seeing the size of the impact on the car.
Looks like the car may have pulled out in front since it was hit broadside in the rear door area.

Very unfortunate. Thoughts and prayers w the family. Saw it after they put the tarp down. Anybody who drives a motorcycle in BR is braver/dumber than me. Gave that up years ago after almost running into the LSU lakes to avoid a car turning in front of me.

I love riding my friends motorcycle on an inside road, but I'm scared shite less taking it on a major highway.

It's not going to change until they get stricter about punishing drivers who kill motorcyclists and bicyclists. Baton Rouge has an inordinate amount of crazy and/or aggressive drivers.

The human brain isn't conditioned to automatically recognize motorcycles, bikes, etc. on a roadway unless it's off autopilot, which few drivers' brains are.

I can't fathom how anyone would ride a motorcycle in this town, especially as a commuter vehicle. With the amount of stupid/aggressive/distracted drivers, it's simply not worth the risk.
