They are like Acme Oyster House as far as small chains go. Once the bean counters started running things it's all about the $$$. Acme quit using real catfish several years ago and did other cost cutting dumb things.
Canes service is still great if things like that matter to you, which it does for just about anyone. The Popeyes by me was running out of chicken early afternoons last summer and could rarely get enough people to show up to work a shift. They still are closed after 6:00 all the time because of not enough employees.

Kids went inside Canes to order a few weeks ago.
We got all the way home and kids realized they forgot to put the chicken in the damn bag.
Told them we are not driving all the way back and reminded them to always check an order before leaving the restaurant.
They had to eat fries and bread.
I guess it is a lesson learned, but how the hell can they omit the damn chicken?
Kids will never want Canes again.
