For just the house. For the money IDT you can beat the JBL Backflip 2, Great sound and very portable. It's about the size of a large Tony Chacheries can. Can be had for about $50-60 battery time is about 5 hours and it charges in about an hour.

You had the big jam box?
I did a side by side with my cocky friend and the big jam box was much louder with better mid and bass. Bose did have nice airy treble, but unless you are trying to have an EDM party, that's not where you butter your bread.
