Have a Ford Explorer that I'm looking to trade-in. I don't really have any interest in another Explorer, so I'm looking for a new (used actually) SUV.

Any pros/cons, recommendations, advice, tips, for the following:

Toyota 4Runner
Toyota Highlander
Kia Telluride
Hyundai Palisade
Subaru Ascent
Volkswagen Atlas

Get one of those new white tahoes for 90k, every soccer mom in Austin is driving one.

Subtle “I have money for a new vehicle in 2022” brag.

Toyota 4Runner
just bought my second one in a row. It’s lacking in the tech side for sure but it’s a solid vehicle.

ETA: I’ve heard good things about the Telluride but I’ll be honest and say I did not want to buy a Kia just for the fact it’s a Kia.

No real requirements. Looking for reliability, safety, easy maintenance, good MPG, and so forth. Family of 4, but we have the kids' friends in the car a lot, typically in the Toyota Sienna though. Would still like trunk space for groceries, kids' soccer and baseball gear, etc.

My 2011 F150 is dwarfed by the million Yukons and Tahoes in my kids carpool line

If you are looking for good MPG, the 4Runner ain’t it.

That said the EPA will have to pry mine from my cold dead hands.

Kia has the best warranty 6 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper and 10 year 100,000 powertrain.

All the rest are 3 year 36,000 miles and 5 and 60,000

Toyota 4Runner is a great all around vehicle. Maintenance, reliability, comfort and fuel economy are all above average.

4Runner.....built in Japan and will last you 20 years or more. Nearly bulletproof, and they look badass to boot.

I would say the highlander for family practicality unless they have a CVT.

I’m a big 4runner fan, but it’s a solid, body-on-frame suv, not a crossover. If you’re coming out of an Explorer (smart choice to trade-in BTW) a Highlander would be a good crossover choice for reliability, space & mpg.

People don't mention the 4 runner is not comfortable. Stiff/bouncy ride, cramped backseat. Poor gas mileage.

Since you want reliability I would pick one of the two Toyotas.

Good fuel mileage? Good luck!

The 4 runner will suffer on mpg and it rides a little rough due to the truck chassis.

That leaves the highlander but you sure aren’t gaining much space coming from the exploder I wouldn’t think.
