They sold to a corporation and ruined the clinic. It’s truly horrible now.

Perkins Road Vet is still the biggest rip-off in town but Jefferson AH went from first to worst.

I didn’t realize the clinic had been sold. That does explain some things.

DVM Maria Mitchell. Used to work at the vet school

She still works for the Vet School. She just does the other stuff on the side.

Animal Health Clinic on Perkins is being sold to a corporation very soon for those who don’t know.

If I would recommend anyone, I would recommend White Oak Animal Hospital on ONeal since my wife is one of the Veterinarians there; and we own it with another couple.

Lots of good suggestions here already, but we take our Mini Aussie to Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital. Dr. Bob is great and they are very reasonable with their prices. We just had our girl spayed on Friday and they did a great job. He was highly recommended to us when we got her, and he isn’t far from the house.

Been taking my dogs to Azalea Lakes Vet clinic on old Jefferson for nearly 20 years and they have always done right. I would suggest asking for Dr. Tara Farmer. She's great and always makes me feel like my dog is her favorite and most important client. She saves me money every chance she gets too. I trust her completely. Good luck.

For 18 years we lived in Baton Rouge, we took our pets to Dr. Britton Stringer at River Oaks Animal Hospital at Millerville and Old Hammond. Great group. On more than one occasion Dr. Stringer met us at his office after hours because of a petastrophe.

Dr. Bob at courses animal hospital is fantastic.

We’ve used Jones Creek Animal Hospital for 20 years and always been taken care of, zero complaints.

After taking our dogs to the same veterinary clinic for years, we are ready to change vets. An eye ulcer in our golden retriever was initially misdiagnosed and now we are concerned that she may ultimately lose it, as it is not getting any better.

You should get an appointment with Dr. Van Brunt over in Mandeville. Dog Eye specialist. Saved my dog's eye from.an eye ulcer, that was at least diagnosed correctly but my vet wasn't able to fix it without outside help.

Dude is excellent and would come like tonight for a (costly) emergency surgery if necessary.

We also went to Gabe Van Brunt. Excellent eye specialist. He operated on my girl on New Years Eve.

I grew up in Shenandoah in the 80’s-90’s and I can’t remember her building not being on the corner of Tigerbend @ Antioch. She’s been there for 35-40 yrs. I’m sure she’s seen it all with pets. She’s kinda rough around the edges but she tells you like it is. She doesn’t sugarcoat anything and that rubs some people the wrong way. I’ve been taking my pup to her for the last 4 months. My parents used her as well.

My dogs go to AVS. They are very affordable. My dog had a corneal ulcer that wasn't healing with the antibiotic drops due to her old age. I almost took her to LSU since I knew she would need surgery, but Dr. Greene at AVS had lots of experience with this so he did her surgery at AVS. He did a grid keratectomy on the ulcer and then sewed her eye shut temporarily for healing. When he took the stitches out after 2 weeks, the ulcer was gone. I dropped her off in the morning for the surgery and picked her up after lunch. It was done under anesthesia. Total cost of surgery and anesthesia was $70. So glad I didn't go to LSU for this. It would have been at least 5 times that much. I was very pleased with Dr. Greene at AVS.
