My hometown just south of Nashville to New Orleans for 2 hours
New Orleans all the way across Texas with short pit stops on San Antonio and a detour to Junction (Junction Boys was playing on ESPN at the time and we wanted to see it...), to Tucson.
Spent night in a HoJo in Tucson.
Tucson to LA, stayed at a friends house overnight.
LA to Vegas, spent night in Vegas.
Vegas to Hoover Dam to Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon straight back to TN
4700+ miles, 5 days, in a minivan with 3 of my buddies. In college over winter break because we were bored and there was nothing to do in our hometown.
Greatest and worst trip ever at the same time.

It was a joke, dawg. Driving from anywhere to Disney world in August with five kids is a nightmare.

I did 18 states in 10 days with my kids 10 years ago. Averaged 300-400 miles a day. I would wake them up each day at 5am and let them sleep in the car and by the time they woke up around 10 or 11 we were at our next destination to explore the rest of the day.
One of the most memorable experiences of my life.
Both kids still talk about this trip to this day and they're both in college now.

Chicago to Wally World.
I’ve never been on any really long road trips. The longest was probably Baton Rouge to Washington D.C.
Both of my grandparents worked in the education system. When my old man was growing up in the 50’s and 60’s, they would travel for the entire summer, camping in a pull trailer, eventually making it to Oregon to visit his grandparents. One year, they drove up the east coast of the United States, drove across Canada from Niagra Falls to Vancouver, down to Oregon. After visiting they drove home back to Abita Springs via California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. By the time he was in college, my father had been to the 48 mainland states.

Longest road trip
20 hours in a rented Tahoe. non-stop with 4 other guys to Breckenridge when our flight was snowed in. Incredibly fun drive and a highlight of that Bachelor party
18 hours, NY to savannah in a U-haul... Pure hell on Earth
4 hours crossing the UAE desert with a local driver. Not long but thought I was gonna die at any moment. Most terrified I've ever been as we weaved through traffic and often ran off the road to pass slow vehicles, bounding back onto the pavement once the pass was completed.
