My in-laws had friend from England come stay with them in Florida for the summer. The husband decides to rent a van and that they want to drive up to Maine and back on US 1.

Took them about 10 days because they weren't used to sitting in a car more than an hour or two at a time. Let alone the 24ish hours it should've taken them to get up there. They both arrived back exasperated over the size of our country. Seeing it on a map is one thing, experiencing it is something else.

As a kid, a number from New Orleans to NE Ohio, and back through the south to see sights.

As an adult, New Orleans to Chicago, with a return trip through Dayton, Ohio, Nashville, and home.

Have done Disney a number of times.

When I was younger, my family and I toured the country for 3 mos in our Van and camper. The cool van with a bed in the back and captain chairs.

From Baton Rouge to Sierraville, California.

2152 miles one way.

But we saw so many national parks, Lake Tahoe, and had an awesome experience.
