Yes, the LT1 was also in the 1996 corvette.
Not to be confused with the LT-1 engine that was installed in the 1970-72 corvette. The LT-1 was a solid lifter cam engine rated at 370, 330 & 255 Hp.

OP's VW angle made me think of the Thing. Haven't seen one on the road in a long time.
