like i said, i dont gamble but why are you so against it?

how the frick does it affect you if you do not participate? why do you hate others for doing something they deem fun?

why the frick do you care how others spend their money?

It's always amazing when the nanny state leftists like Bob Mann and the far-right religious conservatives join forces.

Both groups think "they" know what is best for "you".

It's like anything else that has to do with vices except now the gambling has been moved from the bookies and their back rooms to a corporate front.

New ways to seperate you from your money. With this explosion of gambling, there will probably be some sort of scandal in the future of game fixing by the college athletes with Caesar's, et al laughing all the way to the bank and being absolved of any culpability legally and with a public that will do the same morally.

Mann isn’t wrong here. Getting everyone hooked on gambling isn’t going to have a great ending. I enjoy it greatly but moderate how much I use it far more than my peers seem to. Everyone I know is basically all in on this and I’ll be curious to see how many keep it a small hobby vs how many let it spiral out of control.

You know what’s even sicker than that relationship Bob? Journalists pimping so hard for the left that they lose all objectivity and start spinning narrative’s instead of reporting the news. I’ll bet that’s more damaging than gambling.

Yes he is. Everyone isn't getting hooked on gambling. Your story is anecdotal. None of my friends gamble. Plenty of them watch sports and don't put a dime on any of the games.

Most of these new players are betting very little amounts. If you really wanted to gamble the last 20 years, you would have found a means

What are the odds that an LSU official got paid off to get this accomplished?

Asking before I see my bookie.

Gambling is a vice. It is and should be legal but it is still a vice. The fact that the seedy and disreputable people who run it are employed by corporations instead of the mob doesn't make them.any less seedy and disreputable. Reputable people and organizations should not be involved with it. Organized sports will regret letting the camel's nose under the tent.

The OT hates Robert Mann but he's right about this, whether you hate him or not.

no he isnt right. thats like saying.....alcohol distributors shouldnt be able to give money to a university because alcoholics and all that

its a dumbass take

people should be able to participate in vices if they so choose. and its not seedy to pull up an app on your phone and bet $10 for fun nor is it disreputable.

if an adult wants to do that, who gives a frick? and sorry but college age kids are not kids. they are adults. they have the right to go die for this country, elect its leaders, own property, do anything and everythign but gamlble and drink legally.

those over 21 are free to do anything and everythign every other adult in this country can do expept hold certain political offices.

like i said, i dont gamble, but if someone wants to....cool. if they get addicted well that is on them. I grew up with a pill head mom, i promise something being illegal wanst going to stop here. those that are gambling addicts were gambling illegally before.

bringing gambling into the legal light makes it not seedy.

This seems so sinister. Just sit in your hipster box and chase dopamine. Drop acid, hit the bong, gamble, trade muh crypto... anything that doesn't involve being what God actually created.

this. i've been betting on sports since i was teenager.

the people who just started because it was legalized are throwing $50/week away on first TD scorers and stupid parlays.

Wait until the game starts, probably catch a live well under the 14.5 if we start out slow at 10a. Not sure how good Illinois State is.

I wonder how this will go over when it gets really big in a few years and some people get in trouble with shady characters.

I've been surprised at how gambling-centric everything has become outwardly. A good example is College Gameday and College Football Final. It seems like they spend nearly half the time talking about betting lines and their personal picks.

I don't care at all if people want to bet on sports. I just personally get nothing out of it. A lot of people say things like "it takes games I don't care about at all and makes them interesting". Not for me. I can watch the Tuesday night MAC game and still get utility out of it. lol
