This is spot on. I spent about a month in Pennsylvania in the winter with snow and all, and none of that was as bad as 30s here.
fricking retarded

It’s currently 22 with 61% humidity in Pittsburgh

This super cold day here in the special Louisiana magical cold has guess what? 61% humidity

The cold in Louisiana isn’t magical. Almost everywhere else has humidity with their cold as well

ETA:

Let’s keep going. In Buffalo it’s 12 degrees with 72% humidity right now. Nothing like a Louisianana cold day though

Philly is 22 with 53% humidity

Washington is 28 with 50% humidity

I mean we only get like 7 days a year to wear our winter gear…might as well use it when we can.

Then you are physically retarded. It’s much much much colder in Pennsylvania with humidity than a Louisiana day in the 30s

Thank you for at least attempting to destroy this silly trope.

The flip side is the crazy heat waves of the last summer or two where it was like 20 straight days of above 100 or whatever it was. People simply REFUSED to acknowledge that it was vastly less humid than usual. Many of those days it was like 30-35% humidity, thus rendering it more Vegas/Phoenix than South Louisiana. 100/100 times you would prefer 105 and 30 to 90 and 90.

This

It's a silly thing LA residents repeat for some reason.

I moved to MN and it's cold as frick here and plenty of humidity. Like deadly cold. Also it's always windy as hell.

The difference is you actually prepare for the cold here with gloves, hats, layers, etc so you're just better equipped.

Back in NOLA you wear a jacket over jeans and a t shirt and wonder why it "feels colder".

I think a big part of it is that a lot of people down here don't have extensive amounts of cool/cold weather clothes, so they end up overdressing.

...or they get excited to use their cold weather gear at the first hint of cool weather....

Cold weather serves no purpose.

It's just about acclimatization. I know it's hard to understand, but people in the south cannot take the cold like humans in the north. Opposite for heat. It turns out the human body is really good at this sort of thing.

You can always tell the folks who haven’t worked outside in negative temps.

It doesn’t matter where you are, negative temps are worse than any Louisiana cold.
