If I were him I would set expectations so my team could surprise and delight with an early victory.

I'm heading in to work today for a few hours to help with some things that aren't part of my normal job. Hope I don't get the Kung Flu.

Let's just shut everything for 5 weeks. Get it over and done with. Groceries and medicine delivered, major medical still keeps on. None of this half shut down stuff.

Everybody now has an opportunity to get in the best physical shape of their lives. Kind of like prison except without the shower rape.

Did he actually say that? Every other news site I can find that's covering his interview this morning is saying that he said this stimulus action is meant to cover people for 10-12 weeks, not that he expects the shutdowns to continue for that long. Those two aren't necessarily the same thing.

Do you really think we can keep going at this rate for another five weeks? People are going to be desperate by the end of next week, pretty much the first missed pay cycle.

Huge safety / liability issue

More people will die from a Great Depression than Coronavirus.

A lot of them won't be working from home anymore if this goes on for 2 more months.

Fatality rates would have to be north of 10% for a lockdown of that length to be justified. There's simply no way society as we know it in the US could sustain itself on lockdown for that long.
