I hope it does well, but I have my doubts. Nola will be opening a Drive Shack at the old Times Picayune site, which is the exact same thing. This announcement came months after Top Golf chose BR over Nola, so I’m sure TG was banking on a huge chunk of their clientele coming from the Nola metro area. I just don’t see bachelor parties or those residents driving 50-60 minutes on a good day to BR when there is an alternative in the city.
And I know this has been discussed before, but how is Top Golf gonna get customers Monday-Thursday on a regular basis? BR is already a ghost town in the summer, and TG is more of a novelty then something you do routinely. Think about all the times you’ve been to a TG...probably during a convention/conference or bachelor party. No one is going to BR for a bachelor party or convention, at least not the numbers like Nola. And I’m not buying the argument that TG’s assesses the area and spends money researching the demographics before opening in a city, so they must see it as a good cash flow location. Until you lived there for so many years, you will not realize that something as novel as TG will not survive outside LSU football weekends and a handful of events.

I can see some people are still very butthurt about Baton Rouge getting the first Top Golf over New Orleans.

they wont.
Its expensive enough to go to any respectable place and drink on weekdays so dropping $60-100 on a random Wednesday isnt in the cards for most people

I have serious doubts about how long this place can survive here.
I hope I am totally wrong and that is a massive long term success. Baton Rouge can use any boost it can get.

But what happens when the occasional accident happens like the golf club flying out of your hand on a swing? Does everything stop so a runner can go retrieve it? Do you rent the clubs?

Guess they had to go with different seating in BR cause they needed more waterproof options. Seating at each bay at TG by me is much more lush and comfortable. It is couches with small tables in front of it.

Every other TG I have been to also had couches, this could be something they threw together for the pics until the last bit of furniture is installed. Most have couches up front with the tables behind or in the bar sections IIRC.

I done employees events at the one in Phoenix, AZ area for 3 hours. Even in the winter the weather was nice. Rented out 1/2 of top level, had them cater it with wings, mini burgers, etc, all the beer was taken care of, and had servers for the people that wanted alcohol, soda, water.
Everyone had a great time and it was competitive with Dave & Busters, mainstreet, etc without having my employees mix in with the crowd. This way they could bond and enjoy they evening.

Yep. Culcha will take over Main Event. I went to the Mall of Louisiana while I was in BR for Christmas, and it’s a shame to see how much it’s deteriorated.

The one in Pittsburgh and OKC has some bays with a bar and high top seats and some bays with couches. I think that’s what they did in BR.
I keep waiting for them to shut down the Pittsburgh location in the winter, but it somehow stays open. The economy is pretty bad here and TopGolf stil fills most of their bays so I imagine it will do particularly well with the oil and gas crowd in Louisiana.
It’s really not expensive at all for a couple of hours. The food and drinks are reasonable too. I had more fun there than I expected.

Top Golf will do fine in BR. The main issue is the traffic on Seigen will be worse. It is a bar with stuff to do so it will attract young groups of guys and girls plus older people.
Hopefully, it stays nice and they don't let it get run down like most stuff in Baton Rouge. Best way to kill a few hours drinking, socializing, and food.
