Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely in a domestic battery case, especially one that clearly is already being followed by the press? Not likely gonna happen behind closed doors without due diligence from the judge and DA, both of whom are elected officials. Their worst fear being a defendant getting out and going back for more, perhaps even worse the next time.....which would land right at their feet. It's a pretty sensitive matter for them.

I’ll spill the beans. So, he got caught in a gay love affair with a runner at one of the local billboard firms. Old girl finds out and has evidence. Threatens to release it, and her son called him something that is not considered politically correct and rhymes with “maggot.” Old baw loses his marbles, rips off his sundress and goes ham.


At least, this is how I imagine it went down.

Simple call to a judge to get one set. Bond paid. Get out of jail. Easy.

And judges apparently. Naw I'm just joshing because I don't know anything more than what's available in some news reports. But I do find it rather interesting that said reports do indicate that the DA's office requested a Gwen's Law hearing, which when requested by the state, that hearing is required to be conducted PRIOR TO the judge considering whether or how much to set bail. And of course any hearing must be done on the record, with the court reporter recording the proceedings and also clerk of court present as well. Which I don't quite know how any of that could've happened on a legal holiday. I can assure you the judge didn't just call up the court reporter and deputy clerk of court to a courtroom on that holiday. They may have some 'splaining to do.
