Livingston Parish homeowner kills perp during home invasion

LIVINGSTON - The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office say one man is dead and his wife is in custody after a home invasion south of Livingston Sunday morning.
Officials say Kendal McCarroll and his wife Angel drove their car through the homeowner’s yard, got stuck, then for reasons unknown, forced their way into the home’s front door.
A family was inside at the time, the head of the household shot and killed Kendal, but not before he tried to break out of the house by breaking the bathroom window with a shovel.
Angel fled the scene but was later found and charged with principal to home invasion.
LPSO is still investigating.

God, this is shitty writing. WHO was trying to break out of the bathroom and get away? If it's the shooter, good shoot. If it was the guy who broke in trying to get away, well, that shooter unfortunately needs a good lawyer.
ETA: I believe we can all agree that this world would be a better place if the author of that article and the article's editor were shot for crimes against the English language.

Did the homeowner say that or are they assuming? I’d say he was wildly swinging a shovel and threatening me and he hit the window in the process.

Okay, that's ENTIRELY different from what WBRZ wrote the first time. You leave and come back with a WEAPON and start smashing your way in with my family still inside? My restraint is as non-existent as the safety on my weapon at that point.
