Where are moving to? Island Drive

No specific plans - just looking at the area. There are some nice houses and properties overlooking the bayou. Would love to have a decent size piece of property with water frontage.

Thinking the commute to NOLA may be too long to make everyday.

With the easy access to Mexicans, I'm not surprised.

If you are in Lacombe, go to the convenience store across from Bayou Adventures. Russell's is the name of it. Best soul food anywhere.

It's kinda crappy compared to Mandeville, Madisonville and Covington. Mandeville is a few minutes away and the drive to New Orleans is easy and less than an hour.

Depends on where you live over there. My mom and step dad live on bayou Lacombe in harbor estates. All the houses back there are on 1-2 acres at the least and the houses are 3500+sf and beautiful. I also been to a party on the north side of 190 and the house was 2+ million dollar house. There is some eye sores there, but there's some beautiful houses. Sal and Judy's is good food. Jimmy will take care of you. Also like others said not a far drive to NOLA.

The main issues are that it is unincorporated so make sure wherever you purchase land someone isn't gonna build some shitbox or put a trailer next to it. Plan on sending your kids to private school until Monteleone Jr High. Lakeshore High is I nice school as well

lishman's used to be Carola's. Ms. Carola used to let me step on the pedal to work the conveyor belt at the checkout when I was a little kid. Made my damn day. RIP Ms. Carola.
